Why Female Entrepreneurs Struggle With Closing Deals

Why do female entrepreneurs struggle with closing the deal? AND Why do women have such a hard time asking for what they want? Women in business, leadership, and sales all tap dance around important issues. Assuming that the person they are dealing with will take the hint. 

I suppose that approach works if it is deciding on what restaurant to eat at or a potential gift we want, but for female entrepreneurs, this level of subtlety is going to be detrimental to your business or career.

The number one reason female entrepreneurs break out in a sweat when it comes time to close is self-worth. 

As defined by Webster, your self-worth is “ a sense of one’s own value as a human being”

Self-worth can block your business growth so it is important to understand what you can do to actively change this. 

Getting Started with improving self worth 

The biggest hurdle I hear the most from female entrepreneurs is how nervous they get about the sales process. They come to me asking questions like:

How do I ask for the business without being pushy” 

or 

“How do I know what to charge,” 

Sound familiar?

Why does closing a customer feel so uncomfortable? 

Well,  you are discussing money and in a direct manner, which makes most people uneasy, but deeper than that, is the possibility of a subconscious belief that you believe you are not worth it. 

You are not alone, this deep-seated belief is an epidemic in modern society.  The reason so many of us feel this “not enoughness” is deep down,  there is not much value put on cultivating an inner relationship, a relationship with yourself.

Focus on the inside first!

Sales experts will teach you outwardly, providing you band-aids for the underlying issue. They tell you what to say, how to act, and what you should charge, but they do not address the elephant in the room, the inner struggle, and the WHY BEHIND the struggle. 

Why do you feel uncomfortable asking for what you want or what you want to charge?
